<p>shortest job first (<a class="el" href="../../d7/d9f/class_s_j_f.html" title="Class which implements the SJF scheduling algorithm.">SJF</a>), also known as shortest job next (SJN), is a scheduling policy that selects for execution the waiting process with the smallest execution time. SJN is a non-preemptive algorithm.
