I just read a substack article titled "Programmers trade in their high salaries to become civil servants" Substack Article. This article pointed to this particular Github repository and how it's inspiring and guiding scores of Chinese students. So my curious mind brought me here. Although I was able to figure out a lot of things via Google Translate, some questions regarding this exam.

I was wondering if someone can point out the syllabus of the exam and the English-translated past year question paper of this exam. I would love to see these questions, their difficulty and possibly try to solve some of these questions.

I was also wondering if someone could point me to the job description, joining salary and job details (In English).

There is a big difference between the Chinese and Western civil service systems. In short, the distinction between administrative officials and affairs officials is not so clear.
In the government system represented by Britain and the United States, politicians and civil servants are two different systems. Politicians are elected by the people, have term limits, and are accountable to voters or parliament. Civil officials are selected by examination and are permanent. Politicians are responsible for decision-making and civil officials are responsible for implementation.
In China, politicians and civil servants are called "civil servants." They are all selected to enter the system through examinations. But the best part of them will be promoted to the head of the department, that is, the positions of ministers and directors.
China's civil service examinations recruit for basic-level positions, while the positions recruited by the United Kingdom and the United States are often high-level positions.
The content of the general job inspection is the basic personal abilities, such as text comprehension, writing ability, mathematics, and generalization ability. For some professional and technical positions, skills inspections are often added. For example, the banking supervision department will take the examination of economics knowledge.
